On Friday, August 26, 2016, the Supreme Court of Canada granted a motion to intervene by the Information Technology Association of Canada. Matt Gottlieb, Paul Michell and Ian Matthews filed the motion on behalf of ITAC and successfully sought permission to intervene in the upcoming appeal in Douez v. Facebook, Inc., a case that raises important issues about the enforceability of forum selection clauses contained in online consumer contracts. The appeal is scheduled to be argued on November 4, 2016.
