Our History
Founded in 1997, the firm originated with a partnership among Clifford Lax, Terrence O’ Sullivan and Eleanore Cronk who were alumni of Canada’s top multi-service national firms.
In 2001, Charles Scott joined the partnership after Eleanore Cronk was appointed to the Ontario Court of Appeal. In 2010, Jonathan Lisus joined to lead the firm’s transition into the next generation and build for the future. Jonathan was one of the first established litigators of his generation to move to a litigation firm from Bay Street. In 2011, Matthew Gottlieb, another top commercial litigator from Bay Street, joined the partnership.
Since then, we have consistently deepened our bench with a select team of over 30 litigators focused exclusively on commercial disputes. Today, the firm has earned the reputation of Canada's premier commercial litigation practice.
