Mitchell is an experienced commercial litigator who has worked with a variety of clients across a number of different industries and jurisdictions. Mitchell combines strategic thinking with commercial awareness to provide practical and commercially focused advice to his clients.
Mitchell has a broad litigation practice with a focus on complex commercial and corporate litigation, contentious insolvency matters and multijurisdictional litigation. Dual qualified in Ontario and in England & Wales, Mitchell has experience advising clients on complex contractual disputes, civil fraud matters, director and shareholder disputes and partnership disputes. Mitchell also has experience advising clients on construction and engineering disputes and, while practicing in England, was involved in statutory and contractual adjudications, arbitrations and formal litigation concerning construction matters.
Prior to joining Lax O’Sullivan, Mitchell trained at the London, UK office of a large international law firm where he worked on complex commercial litigation and international commercial arbitration matters. Mitchell also practiced as a litigation associate at boutique firm in London where he worked on high value commercial litigation matters.
