Bio
As a trusted advisor for clients navigating business disputes, Michael Currie is known for his practical approach and calm demeanour through high-stakes and often difficult situations. Commended by a judge for conducting “highly focused and effective examinations”, he has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and regularly acts for clients in mediations and arbitrations.
Michael acts for both public and privately held companies, with an emphasis on contractual disputes, franchise agreements, oppression claims, injunctions, and class actions. Michael has deep knowledge of the property development and automotive sectors in particular, including disputes under the National Automobile Dealer Arbitration Program (NADAP).
Committed to supporting his local community, Michael is the proud founder of Good Laughs, an annual fundraiser where lawyers perform stand-up comedy for a good cause, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local and national charities.
